Care and installation
Marble is calcium carbonate, so keep it away from lemon, vinegar and acidic cleaners; a pH-neutral stone cleaner is all daily cleaning needs. An impregnating sealer applied after installation markedly reduces staining. For wet floors and exteriors we recommend a honed, brushed or sandblasted finish instead of polished to reduce slipperiness.
Akhisar Beige: frequently asked questions
Where is Akhisar Beige quarried?
In the quarries around Akhisar in Manisa, Turkey. Yılmaz Mermer buys the blocks after selecting them on site and processes them at its Akhisar plant right next to the source, which keeps shipping fast and the selection consistent.
Can Akhisar Beige be used outdoors?
Yes, on façades, courtyards and stairs with a honed, brushed or sandblasted finish. A polished surface dulls outdoors over time and can be slippery when wet, so we recommend polished for interiors. For projects in regions with hard frost we select blocks for the application.
What sizes and thicknesses does Akhisar Beige come in?
Blocks, 2 cm and 3 cm slabs, cut-to-size tiles (e.g. 60×60 cm, 60×120 cm), stair treads, sills and copings. For projects we also produce 1.2 cm thin slabs and 4–5 cm thick slabs.
How much does Akhisar Beige cost?
The price depends on the selection grade, thickness, finish and quantity. Send us the area, thickness and delivery port and our sales team will reply with a current price within one business day.
How is colour consistency kept on large projects?
Akhisar Beige’s homogeneous ground already keeps slab-to-slab variation low. On top of that, every block is numbered on arrival and a project ships from the same blocks in sequenced slabs; as this is our deepest stock, large areas can be supplied from a single selection.
